She was graduated from H.U. College of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 1982. She completed her Master of Science studies in 1986 and PhD studies in 1989 in H.U. Institute of Health Science. She participated as an observer in the studies conducted on prosthetics/orthotics and physiotherapy and rehabilitation of muscular disorders in Germany, England and Denmark; moreover, she served not only as researcher but also as project coordinator in a sizable number of national and international projects. She earned the title of associate professor in 1993 and professor in 1999. She currently continues to serve as academic personnel responsible for the Units of Muscle Diseases and Swallowing Disorders in Hacettepe University College of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
