Prof. Dr. Haluk TOPALOĞLU

CHILDREN HEALTH AND DISEASES NEUROLOGY

He was graduated from high school in USA where he managed to go thanks to the AFP scholarship he had been awarded in Maarif Collage in Eskisehir. He was graduated from Hacettepe University Medical Faculty in 1978 and completed his Children’s Health and Diseases residency to become a specialized doctor in 1982. He earned the title of associate professor in 1989 and professor in 1996. 

He worked in National Health Institutes in Calgary, Canada between 1984 and 1985; in Londra, England 1990 as well as between 1994 and 1995; in Bethesda, ABD between 1998-2000.

He was bestowed upon the Science Awards by Bayindir Hospital in 1997, by Hacettepe University in 2003, and by the Science and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBİTAK) in 2003. He has serving as the Secretary General of World Muscle Society (WMS) since 2001. He became European Medical Researches Council Representative of Turkey in 2008.

His areas of interest are neuromuscular disorders, neurological diseases of genetic origin, developmental retardations in children and convulsions.
